Seattle Repertory (Rep) Theatre is one of Seattles largest not-for-profit performing arts institutions, established 60 years ago. Passage Noir was created by Michael Brockman during two separate residencies in Paris. "Sleeves" was written by Jimmy Heath in 1984, and is based on a reharmonization of "Autumn Leaves."

The SDC/League of Resident Theatres Agreement covers not-for-profit professional regional. Jimmy returned to Seattle in December 2007 to go into the studio with the SRJO to make a formal recording of the suite. Home / Contracts / Agreements / Seattle Repertory Theatre LORT. The new suite, in three movements, met with critical and audience acclaim, and has been performed by the SRJO on three occasions following the premiere. Eight local songwriters will take the stage to share original songs they wrote drawing on the shows storyline. The premier of The Endless Search Suite took place in concert with the SRJO on November 4, 2006, at Seattle's Benaroya Music Hall. Following the triumphant concerts, the SRJO decided to commission a new work from Jimmy (with a grant from Meet the Composer), resulting in the exciting suite introduced on this recording. In June 2001, SRJO audiences were treated to a pair of concerts in Seattle and in nearby Kirkland featuring Jimmy, at which he directed and played with the SRJO on many of his best know works written for the bands of Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, J.J. Among these have been eleven National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters, including the legendary saxophonist, composer and arranger, Jimmy Heath. Additionally, the SRJO regularly invites the foremost jazz artists to share the stage as special guests. This includes those creating works in the present, as well as the revered composers of the past.
The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra was established in 1995, with the goal of presenting the great works of jazz by the best American composers.
